Why I Use TWO Toothbrushes

Why do I use more than one toothbrush? In this video, I’m sharing my honest take as a registered dental hygienist on using multiple toothbrushes, including manual toothbrushes, electric toothbrushes, sonic toothbrushes, and oscillating toothbrushes. A lot of you ask why you see me switch toothbrushes in my morning and nighttime routines, and the truth is that part of it is personal preference, part of it is clinical experience, and part of it comes down to what helps someone brush more effectively and consistently. I also explain what is actually evidence-based versus what is more anecdotal, because while one soft-bristled toothbrush used correctly twice a day can absolutely do the job, I have seen some patients benefit from alternating between different toothbrushes based on brush head size, handle shape, comfort, access to hard-to-reach areas, and overall brushing technique. So in this video, I’m breaking down why I use more than one toothbrush, whether you really need two toothbrushes, manual vs electric toothbrushes, sonic vs oscillating toothbrushes, and what really matters most for healthy teeth and gums.
